About Broken Chord Music
Broken Chord Music was founded by Jack Love in early 2024. Jack had been running a successful music studio in Seattle for over ten years, providing drums lessons and coaching to hundreds of kids and adults alike. Looking for a way to provide music lessons to a wider audience, he and Claire Michaels built Broken Chord Music.
Their goal is to connect aspiring musicians of all ages with great teachers who are passionate about music.
Our Team
Jack Love - Owner
Jack began playing the trumpet in school at the age of 10. He continued playing music through college, and began playing the drums in his early 20's. Drums became a lifelong passion, and he opened his first teaching studio, Seattle Drum Studio, in 2011. Since then, Jack has toured the country playing music, and taught hundreds of students.
Jack wanted to bring music to more students and families, and began Broken Chord Music with longtime friend, Claire Michaels. Jack currently plays for the bands Filthy Traitors, and Without A Doubt, as well as the 204th Army Band. He still teaches regularly out of his studio in Seattle.
Claire Michaels - Managing Director
Claire and Jack have been music friends for many years, after she joined the 204th Army Band in late 2008. A lifelong student of music, she worked hard to become the principal flautist of the band, and continues to perform throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Claire has become known by friends and colleagues as an admin wizard for her ability to learn and navigate difficult systems and programs. She joined Jack and Broken Chord Music as Managing Director and keeps the ship running smoothly, interfacing between students, parents, and teachers.
